SUNDAY 5'11 DIVISION

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

05-18-2014

The Championship game in FilCom, it is not just about winning, it is about how you win, Mike said. Hamilton Nguyen,REGULAR SEASON AND CHAMPION MVP, who had 18 points and 13 rebounds in the Ballers 65-63 victory over the Shockers on late Sunday night, was upset that Shockers let the Ballerz come back to force the winning shot, they didn’t double Izon. Izon knew that it was mismatch and Izon took advantaged of it. With 17 seconds on the clock left and with no time out remaining, Izon let the clock run down as he took the last fade away shot, as the clock hit zero, and the buzzer sounded, it was a remarkable win for the Ballerz and the Shockers players was shocked. Shockers did not play very smart with their lead early on the fourth quarter. “It was the best championship I’d ever seen, both teams are going back and fort scoring and I couldn’t sit down”, one of the Shocker fans said. Hamilton hit all two free throws for the 63-63 tie. Kelvin finished with 17 points for Ballerz. Izon added 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Bert had 10 points and seven rebounds. Gino, the six men led Shockers with 30 points and seven assists, Gerald, the MOST IMPROVED PLAYER usually scored 10 points or more per game had only five points, it was his lowest score game ever, and Ryan and Duane each scored four points. It seems liked the Shockers waited a little too late to come alive, the Shockers beat the Ballerz on the regular season, with some confidence, this game they did not do that. They had plenty of opportunities to take the lead, but there were lots of forcing shots and lots of turn over for the Shockers. Marvin said the Shockers should off been playing sharper if they want to make a run in the championship. The Shockers did not do a good job of closing the Ballerz out, the Shockers let them hang around the whole game, and the Shockers should have been up in the fourth quarter by 15 points. The Shockers went on an 8-2 run to open the fourth quarter and take a ten-point lead. It was a tie ball game 29-29 on the halftime. Hamilton had four points at the half for Ballerz, and Kelvin added ten. Eric had 8 points for the Shockers. Both teams fought to the end and just continued to play hard until the clock hit zero.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT DIVISION

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

05-14-2014

HAYWARD, Even thought their star point guard player Joel Solis Jr. was not present at the game; the Rebellion rode the extensive shoulders of Al to victory. The Cool Cats were not going to let Rebellion beat them with 3-pointers, and they did not want the "REGULAR SEASON MVP" Ryan “Speedy” using the base line lane as his own playground. Therefore, the xpert Al “THE MVP CHAMPIONS” shocks himself to score 21 points. The Rebellion held Cool Cats to twenty-two field goal in the final two minutes to rally for a 79-57 win Wednesday night on the championship game. The Cool Cats also went scoreless for 6 minutes during that stretch. Their two field goal coming with less than five minutes remaining. The Rebellion won despite going 3 for 11 on 3-pointers and getting only 15 points from its normally effective bench. "They got killed on 3s from Al and Ivan," Bangerz star player, Marvin said. Ivan scored ten points on 5-for-12 shooting from the paint in the first half to help the Rebellion overcome a 16-point deficit. Coach Tony Alday said. "Ivan is the foundation from which everything else happen, whether he's scoring or not. He plays defense, rebounds, and scores here and there. He just does his job and listens to his teammates. Ivan had 16 points, and JP added 13. Ryan “Speedy” had 15 points and six rebounds and Masato pulled down 10 points with five assists for peak seeded Rebellion. Even though Gilo was still injured during the championship game, he still manage to scored 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Cool Cats, who almost pulled off an upset on the number one seed, Rebellion. The Rebellion had insisted that what happens in the regular season does not matter, and they were proven right for much of the game. "It is tough to change mechanism from the regular season to the championship, especially on FilCom League", Morgan said. The Rebellion was down 16 points on the first quarter, but when All-Star point guard, Ivan then drove the lane for a layup and drained a 3-point jumper, the Rebellion knew that it was a different ball game. Since, Ivan made that 3-point shots, his teammates start making shot as well, and once Rebellion took the lead, they never looked back and just continue making shots after shots. The Cools Cats never lead after that. Ivan was able to push the ball and get some easy baskets. It seems liked the Rebellion got their confidence going, and the turned over from the Cool Cats and the stops that Rebellion made helped the Rebellion offensively. Tony Alday, played on the last final 3 minutes on the fourth quarter, but he didn't have to score, because he trusted his players to do the job. "It was a hard fought season, because there were lots of strong teams, but we always come prepared and just play hard, and we took the game one week at a time, and it paid off." Tony said.

Geillo has been so good as an FilCom player. Geillo average of

13 points and 11.5 rebounds. He's shot 65.8 percent from the

floor and an outstanding 38 percent from the perimeter range.

Geillo size, agility, and shooting ability make him one of the top

inside and outside offensive threats in FilCom league. Lots of

coaches has a lot of confidence in Geillo. So far, his career has

been marked by constant improvement. Who knows what the

future has in store for this talented player.

At 5'8 and 160 pounds, Kelvin aka(showtime)

has a body of a power forward but handled

the ball as well as any point guard in FilCom.

He's very talented enough to play every position

on the court. Kelvin has put up remarkable

statistics so far, including career average of

14 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists but his

most remarkable number is his age, he's just 22.

Kelvin is very brilliant at passing, suffocating

defense and can read his opponent very well.

As one of the top players in the FilCom, Ivan is a

perennial All-Star, but he is a team player. Ivan

knows he has the opportunity to win several

championships ever seasons. Ivan can make it

work because he is one of the most unselfish

players in the FilCom league. As shown by his

11.4 point career average, Ivan can score, but

he has also averaged 6.6 assists in his FilCom

career.
